Kimberly received dual undergraduate degrees in Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry from the University of New Mexico. While there she worked in research labs studying the use of lipid nanoparticles and ascites for cancer treatment using confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, and scanning electron microscopy. She went on to get her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at Ohio State. During the course of her Ph.D., she used light and fluorescence microscopy, atomic force microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy to observe collagen in a variety of tissues.  At CMIF, she is focused on assisting users with electron microscopy, primarily sample preparation and imaging for transmission electron microscopy. She is excited to help users achieve high quality sample preparation and TEM images that are both useful and beautiful.
